Musical Journey
The band (IRON ROD) was pieced together with studio musicians in Seattle featuring Doug McGrew on drums (who later went on to join Geoff Tate of Queensryche), Aaron Cheeny on lead guitar (Scorpions Trib.), Paul Speer on lead guitar and keys in 1994 and independently sold 30,000 CD’s of their first release “Rockin’ The Right Way.” The band was reformed in Salt Lake City, UT in 2001 and played regularly including performing during the 2002 Winter Olympics where they recorded their live album “The Moment of Truth” (never released). Internal struggles dissolved the band once again and the founder, writer, producer Dr. Staten Medsker (Rockndoc) relocated to Nashville in 2005 to pursue a solo TV career.
In 2014 Dr. Medsker returned to Seattle due to his father’s failing health and in November 2015 rebuilt Rockndoc Recording Studio in an attempt to resurrect IRON ROD’s incomplete music projects. The band has since reformed again and is now “Rockndoc & The Back Bones.” My latest CD “The Moment of Truth” is an amazing compilation of over 25 famous artist (All Chiropractic patients of mine).
Here’s a list of a few featured on the album: Dead Rebel Saints, Outshined (Soundgarden trib), Windowpane, Washed in Black (Pearl Jam trib), Jar of Flies (Alice in Chains trib), Wyatt Olney and the Wreckage, Iron Dragon, Rail, Stryper, Foreigner, Bad Company, Queensryche, Air Supply, Heart by Heart and Heart and many more!!
